Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is a botanical garden — Asia's largest expanse dedicated to the rose. Designed by Dr. M.S. Randhawa and named after India's former President, Zakir Hussain. The specialty of the garden is that the rose plants have been planted in carved-out lawns and flower beds. The garden blossoms all year with roses like Mister Lincoln, Eden, Rosa Peach and many more. The garden also has trees of medicinal value including bel, bahera, harar, camphor and yellow gulmohar. It serves as the venue for an annual rose festival — a major cultural event in Chandigarh during February or March.
Visitor Reviews
“I visited during the rose festival — it was eye-pleasing to see more than 100 types of roses all around, with the atmosphere full of different and beautiful colors.”
